Fried rice with beef and beef meatball(bakso sapi)

Today menu is simple fried rice!

Normally when i cook,i cooked for 2 servings, one for lunch and another for takeaway dinner at my workplace.

Today i used instant seasoning mix for fried rice since i'm still at very noob level of cooking. I added a little of leftover beef stew meat, beef meatball, eggs and veggies.

Even though the rice was too soft,it turned out to be quite nice,it reminds me of those sticky japanese fried rice. The beef meat was too plain, shud have seasoned it a little.

THE STEPS:

1. cook the rice.

2. fry one egg.

3. boil the beef, meat ball and veggies and then slice both beef and the meatball.

4. add oil to the frying pan and stir fry 2 eggs and add a little salt, then add the rice and the instant fried rice seasoning, mix it well and i added kecap manis(sweet soya sauce) since the colour and taste not good enough and i added a little more salt, pepper and chilli flakes.

5. add the beef, meatballs and veggies. and mix it well.

ITS DONE!!

Lesson learnt: i added way too much water to the rice, when cooking fried rice, its better for the rice to be slightly dryer/harder. since the rice was soft, its very hard to mix the ingredients and seasoning well. i shud fry the beef and add a little seasoning beforehand as well,it tasted plain today

Spaghetti Scallopini with pan fried Salmon

Today is an easy one to make, spaghetti scallopini with pan fried salmon..

i used Leggos's Italian chicken scallopini creamy sauce,i hope i can make my own creamy spaghetti sauce in future..

The instructions:

1. boil water, add a little salt to it then cook the spaghetti.

2. seasoned the salmon half half with black pepper and dry chilli flakes for 2 different taste

3. heat up the pan and melt some butter and pan fry the salmon.

4. simmer the scallopini sauce under low heat and i added some water to get the leftover sauce from the bottle.

5. rinse the cooked spaghetti under cold water and dry it to prevent it being soggy(it worked this time) and added a bit of butter to prevent it from being sticky.

AND THATS IT! A PALATABLE SIMPLE MEAL!!

Tough Black Pepper "STEAK"

Today,i feel like eating steak after seeing a customer ordered grilled tenderloin.

I went to buy cheap stew beef meat instead of those expensive tender/sirloin cuts though.

Seasoned it with salt and black pepper and pan fried it with butter and top it off with veggies.

It turned out to be pretty tough and chewy, still a little juicy inside,

just the way i like it. Those who know me knows that i like my steak super well done since i like to sink my teeth into those meat and give my jaw a good exercise, yeah i know i'm probably weird.

The taste is excellent though! Its simple, easy and delicious!

Lesson learnt:

The meat was too thick so i had to slice and pan fried again. I will try better cut next time.

Fried indomie mee goreng instant noodles

My lunch today, fried mee goreng instant noodles + egg + frozen veggies + chicken stickie nuggets.

I learnt a few lesson today... always defrost the frozen veggies before cooking, add seasoning and oil to the veggies and eggs and the last one, dont cook the noodles too long before frying.

the steps i did:

1. toast the nuggets

2.cook the noodle then let it run under cold water(supposedly to make the noodle springy but it was soft today :( )

3. fry the eggs and frozen veggies

4. add noodles and the seasonings

5. decorate the noodles with nuggets

AND VIOLA! my so-so fried instant noodles...

THE REASON WHY I MIGHT BE LAZY TO COOK IN FUTURE!!!

U gotta start somewhere,dont you?

Alright, this is it... I'm single and staying alone and cant cook for nuts...

My whole entire life,I've been eating excellent home cooked food courtesy of my mum ranging from traditional Indonesian food to your usual Chinese dishes and other fusion stuffs and even some Italian...

Now I'm back in Indonesia, staying alone and working at a cafe since its my dream to open my own F&B in future and I CANT COOK!

People told me that in order to have a successful F&B,you've to be able to cook so here we go.

I'll be self-learning how to cook from scratch from either TV shows like Jamie Olivers and etc,Internet recipes or you-tube or maybe create my own recipe thru many trials and perfect it?

For now,my basic cooking skills is your everyday tom dick harry can do; cooking instant noodles, frying eggs, cook rice using rice cooker and boiling water?

OK,here's the first pic of what i "cooked" for dinner yesterday. Fried eggs with kecap manis(sweet soya sauce) and fried japanese fishcake and luncheon meat. well,u go to start somewhere dont you?

Hopefully I'll be hardworking and persevere to learn and finally be able to cook for real! (hate cleaning and washing the dishes though)

WISH ME LUCK GUYS! THX
